Classes
Simmons Security Academy provides the following classes:
Level II
The Level II training course and test are required of all non-commissioned security officers, commissioned security officers, and personal protection officers. Completing this course, and passing the exam, is required to become a non-commissioned (unarmed) security officer in the state of Texas. The Level II training course is the basic requirement for all levels of security, and is required before taking the Level III course.
Level III
The Level III Training Course (minimum 45 hours) and test (including course of fire) is required for all commissioned security officers and personal protection officers. After completing this course, and passing the exam, you will be eligible to work as a commissioned (armed) security officer.
Level IV
The Level IV Training Course (minimum 15 hours) and test is required for all personal protection officers (body guards).
License to Carry
The objective of this course is to educate students on the responsibilities and laws applicable to handgun license holders. This course is designed for a minimum of four hours, maximum six hours, of classroom instruction, written examination, and the proficiency demonstration. The course covers the curriculum mandated by the state of Texas.
